Bugout Bag Traps

Yesterday a couple was looking at traps for their bugout bags.  I asked them if they would consider eating raccoons.  No objections there!  So I talked to them about the different kinds of dog proof coon traps.  The basic differences between the traps are that some: are easy to set without a tool, have stakes at the bottom of the trap, and some are push or push/pull set.  The nice thing about coons is that you do not have to worry about your scent, you can just set your trap and you are good to go.  Coons are also very easy to catch, and in a way stupid, because you can catch them in the same spot over and over again.

They did not seem too interested in any of the body grip/conibear traps, possibly because of space concerns.  They selected a leg hold trap, but by that time I was too busy, so I am not sure which one they got.

I talked to them a little about turkeys, and how it may be worth it to take along a couple of calls since they will not take much space.  In a survival situation you would want to locate the roost.  I recommended looking at The Haint gobbler call.

This is an interesting topic, but hopefully no one needs to resort to this...

You profiteer! Are you selling survivalist junk for a collapse that will never happen?

Smart capitalists don't prepare for TSHTF. They sell stuff to people who are scared by it, like I used to be. The USG has virtually total control today. The SP underestimated that.

Hey, if someone asks for something I'll try to meet their needs. I didn't sell junk I use those products.
