Guineas have this remarkable ability to escape their pen and then completely forget to use that same method of escape to re-enter their pen. They will pace along the perimeter getting more and more agitated, jib-jib-jibbing in frustration and fear until finally being herded back inside. Guineas are good for pest control and do not seem to be as destructive towards useful plants like chickens, ducks and geese--the very reasons you have a pen in the first place.

Ah. So you don't pen the guineas as closely as the chicken, duck or goose.
The guineas are in a pen that was never envisioned for them. They can easily fly over the fence, but hardly ever fly back inside.
